Competitive FAQ

What is the player evaluation/tryout process?
The club training staff will run the evaluations.  The Coaches will assess technical skills, athleticism, speed and quickness, player attitude, and the potential to improve with training.  Player evaluation is by the training staff, they make all the decisions.

What are supplemental evaluations?
Supplemental evaluations are held mid-season and is a process in which the club looks for players to fill open roster spots on already established team.  However, if enough players attend, entirely new teams can be formed.

What is our major objective for the players?
Our major objective is to provide the highest possible levels of training for your children that enable them to become technically sound players who love and play the game of soccer for life.

Where do the teams practice?
Practices are held at Westland Baptist Church, George Bush Park Soccer Complex, and New Territory Sports Complex.  Teams practice twice a week on either Monday – Wednesday or Tuesday – Thursday schedule, with weekend games.  Additional Technical and Goalie training is also provided by National Fusion trainers.

Where do National Fusion Soccer Club players come from?
Players come from throughout the Houston region, including West Houston, Katy, Alief, Sugarland, New Territory, Memorial, Fort Bend areas, College Station, Richmond, and Cy-Fair.

Where are the games played?
Academy teams play in the Houston area.  Games can be played at George Bush Park, Katy Park, New Territory, Sugarland, West University, First Colony, Bear Creek, or in other parts of Houston for example.  Super 2 and Division 1 team will play league games in Katy Park, Tomball, Klein, Kingwood, Sugarland, Friendswood

How are the teams managed and run?
Each team has a parent manager responsible for overall management of the team around registrations, team functions, and communications.  Each team also has a Treasurer responsible for all financial aspects of the team.  Remember, all decisions regarding playing time and positions are run by the Coaches.

What is the playing season?
Teams start training in August for the fall season, and take a winter break beginning mid-December.  Training for the spring season begins mid-January and goes through the month of May.

Does National Fusion Soccer Club offer financial assistance to defray costs?
Teams have the opportunity to obtain financial assistance and pursue fundraisers to defray individual and team costs.  Financial assistance is available for hardship cases.  The NFSC Board reviews these individually.

Where can I buy my uniforms?
