Fusion Scholarship Program Guidelines

The following are the guidelines for the application and review process for Fusion scholarships.

Time-line:

1) Applicant contacts a member of Fusion's board, staff or coach.
2) That individual directs them to the scholarship form found on our website or provides the form to the individual.
3) Application is returned to the Secretary.
4) The Secretary is responsible for creating a financial committee for review and approval.
5) Board reviews and approves or disapproves the recommendations from the committee.
6) Secretary contacts the applicants.

Guidelines:

1.) Applications are considered on a case-by-case basis. Any applicant can be disqualified for any reason.
2.) In general acceptance will be considered for the following:
  • Applicants making less than $25,000 with 1 child in the program
  • Applicants making less than $35,000 with 2 children in the program
  • Applicants making less than $50,000 with more than 2 children in the program

3) The committee has the discretion to request an applicant's W2 or pay check stub.
4) There two levels of scholarship based on income and availability.

  a) Full scholarship includes 100% of the training fees paid
  b) Partial scholarship would be less than 100% of the training fees paid.

5) All approved scholarship candidates should be required to provide a minimum of 10 hours per season volunteer time toward club sponsored activities. This time could include coaching, team parent, registration assistance, field work, tournament work, etc. Upon approval applicants should be provided with a form that they must fill out and return to the soccer board at the end of each season documenting volunteer activities.

6) Only available spaces on teams will be considered for scholarships. No current player shall be displaced for scholarship candidates.
